How to enter the Jira Product Discovery Ship your idea contest 🚢💭
Ready to share your big product idea?! Here’s how to take part in the contest.
At Team Europe ‘25, the winner will see their idea brought to life onstage and may take the stage for the keynote or a super session!
- Step 1: Submit your idea
Submit your idea through a Jira Service Management form. Complete the required fields and agree to the terms and conditions—it’s that simple! - Step 2: Stay in the loop
Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to a public Jira Product Discovery board showing all the submitted ideas. We’ll share regular updates on the contest, giving you a peek into how we’ll conduct intake and prioritize entries in Jira Product Discovery. - Step 3: Judging & selection
Before ShipIt 60 (May 15th), our expert judging panel will review submissions and select one standout idea to move forward into prototyping. - Step 4: Winner notification & travel
Finally, we’ll select a winning idea! We’ll contact the winner and start coordinating travel for Team Europe ’25. - Step 5: Live recognition at Team EU ’25

Jira Service Management and Jira Product Discovery: The dream team for idea intake
To capture all the idea submissions in a central location for our team to review and prioritize, we integrated a Jira Service Management public portal with Jira Product Discovery. Check out our Loom video that walks through the entire process.
Portals in Jira Service Management make submissions – whether it be feedback, improvements, support requests, or (in our case) idea contests – quick and easy for customers. Jira Product Discovery is a dedicated space for teams to capture customer insights, use those insights to prioritize ideas, and then build a roadmap to get feedback and buy-in from stakeholders and leadership.
Using the two apps together, plus some automation rules, we can create a fully integrated and automated intake portal for customer suggestions. And by funneling requests and feedback to a dedicated place like Jira Product Discovery to triage and prioritize, we keep our Jira backlogs free of clutter and ensure it’s focused only on ideas committed to by Product and Engineering leadership.
